It’s January, but our season is right around the corner! There are many kids getting ready for the season and doing it at home - in the basement, garage or in the yard. If you’re hitting off the tee, there are a few check points to hit. Check out the video below for some easy pointers working on our “perfect tee.”
1.) Set the tee height correctly - “Perfect” height is Fist height. We can also do high tee and low tee to work on our posture changes.
2.) Check our distance from the tee. We can also incorporate this into our plate routine.
3.) Load - Keep it simple for the 8U guys! Push in the back foot and coil our back hip toward the pitcher
4.) Timing - “Riiiiiiiiiiiight Now” - This can then be done on pitches to carry our timing from the tee to the live at bat.
COACHES - Avoid getting too techinical, instructing too much. This can bog hitters down. Let them be athletes - not robots.
